Stepping Back

It's 7:25 on a crisp October morning & as I sit here with my hot cup of (strong) coffee, the fireplace on & my baby girl asleep in her swing, I can't help but get teary eyed & feel so thankful as I step back and really realize how amazing my life is. I have an absolutely amazing, supportive husband, a nice roof over my head & a sweet precious gift from God that is my Daughter.

Between the sleep deprivation, cries & screams that can last for hours on end, poopy diapers & the other stresses that come along with parenthood, it's been hard to take the time and realize that parenthood truly is amazing. We are in charge of this little life that we have created. This tiny being is dependent on us. OH MY GOD. Sure, parenthood has it's challenges, but aren't they all so worth it at the end of the day when you look your baby in the eyes & she flashes a gummy grin up at you because she knows you're her mother? Hell yes.

Seriously, motherhood rocks. It took me a good month & a half to realize that, but everyone deals with change differently I guess.

I'm working on a post full of updates on us, so don't give up on me yet! We are now in a little routine, so as soon as I get another minute to sit down & type out my thoughts, I will do so. I really miss blogging & I could definitely use some advice from you ladies on a few different issues we are dealing with!

Well, baby girl is stirring in her swing. That nap lasted a whole 20 minutes. HA! Gotta go!

  2. Cant wait to hear about you and Baby Girl more! Totally agree with you, through the hours when you want to pull your hair out you have to remind yourself what it is all about. When Baby Girl wakes quickly and I still have a ton of things to do and almost resent hearing her cry over the monitor, that feeling changes when I walk into her room saying Hi and she looks up at me and smiles as if to say ah thank you, get me out of here, I want to play!

  3. Enjoy your sweet girl! Can't wait to hear updates. I know it's hard to "enjoy" the screaming fits and sleepless nights but they really do go by so quickly and then you'll be like me as I'm planning her 1st birthday party saying where did my newborn go?? :)
