 Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

I told myself I wouldn't do this.

But I got so sick of wearing my hair up in a messy bun everyday, that I chopped it off yesterday into a.......MOM 'DO!!! ahhhh!!!!

I'm not so sure what I think of it. I mean, it's really, really short. I can't decide if I look like I'm 12 or if I look like I'm 42. But I wanted something that's easy to maintain & that still looks cute once baby girl is here. The length I had before was just plain awkward. I never wore it down because it flipped out on one side & curled under on the other. I was just really bored & annoyed of it. So.. I got brave & chopped it off. My bangs are a lot shorter than what I had wanted but I'll make them work.

What do you guys think? Be honest!

Also, I went to the doctor yesterday for my 38 week check-up. Drum roll please...................................................................................................................................................

I am a whole fingertip dialted with a softer cervix!! HAHA!! WOOOO! We're makin' progress people. (note sarcasm) We had planned on having the doctor strip my membranes at this appointment, but I am so closed up that it was impossible. Awesome.

This girl is one stubborn babe. Just like her momma. I have been however, having a few contractions since Sunday night. They don't last long though & are very sporatic. Nothing worth timing. So... I will be here a while longer. Meh.

  11. Laur your hair looks fantastic! You look your age totally... not like a 12 yr old or a 40 yr old! This is why I wanted to cut my hair... because I see people like you that short hair completely suits. On me? Not so much :)

I will be sending you tons of labor vibes! Come on Baby Claire... come out this weekend!!!

  17. Love it!!!! I would like my hair to look like that but mine doesn't have any body, so it just looks straight and flat! :( I think this may be my first comment on your blog but I have been reading for quite a while (I found yours through Mrs. F, and I love hers too!) My sister is also exactly 38 weeks and had her 38 week appointment yesterday too! ha ha! So I am rooting for the both of you! I used to live in Salt Lake City but my husband and I just moved to Phoenix for his new job! Here's my new blog...I'm just getting started! (I'm not a mommy yet but hopefully soon...)
    Have a great day!

  19. I love your new haircut. I think you look just beautiful.

As far as the baby, you never know, it can happen really fast. Some people take forever and go slowly and others just progress from nothing to baby in 1 day. Either way enjoy these last few hours, days or weeks :) as a pregnant mommy. You life is about to change.

How exciting. I can't wait to meet your sweet baby girl :)

  21. Hahaha, I did the same thing. I wasnt going to cut my hair while I was pregnant, mostly for fear that if I filled out in the face, short hair doesnt usually look so flattering, but I ended up cuting my hair about 3 weeks before I was due for the same reason you cut yours. However, I regretted it while I was in labor, my hair was a little shorter than yours and I couldnt get it in to a pony tail without hairspraying the hell out of it and using clippies to keep the shortest of the strands up...it wasnt convienent during delivery. However, it looks great on you, and it is a "mom do" but your now a mother, so its okay *wink*

  22. Your hair looks soooo cute! In fact, I was just thinking today (after a summer of putting wet hair into a messy bun!), that I should do something similiar. Seriously, I love it on you!

I (very) recently started blogging, so if you want to check it out, visit lifeatcampdallas.blogspot.com. It's a work in progress, but I'm having fun, so that's what counts, right?!?!

Good luck with your cervix...! It'll all be SO worth it when your precious bundle arrives! :-)
