You know, I don't *do* change. {A Vlog of My New 'Do}

Ah, lucky you.

You get to witness my horribly short haircut.

I realize there are so, so many worse things in life than a bad haircut, & I know it'll grow. It's just the initial shock of it that's freaking me out.

I chopped off about 5" yesterday & am in complete shock. I absolutely hate it. Why? One, because, I don't deal well with change. & two, BECAUSE IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURE I SHOWED MY STYLIST!!!

This is what I wanted:

But alas, it looks nothing like that. So, for the next 3 years, until it grows, I'll be popping pre-natals & massaging my scalp. {yes, I'm being overly dramatic. get over it}

So, here I am embarrassing myself. Please excuse the content of the vlog. It doesn't make much sense because I just whine ramble for 3 minutes. But you get the gist.

Please excuse the fact that I say "Hi-lo" rather than "Hi" or "Hello".

Vlog Highlights:

1. I know how to ramble about nothing
2. My hair {or lack thereof} is short
3. I say "seriously" too much.

  1. I watched the video and I really don't think it looks bad. You have such a pretty face/bone structure the short hair just shows it off more. I know what it's like to have a bad haircut...it's so frustrating when it looks NOTHING like the picture you take in. Looking forward to seeing it on Friday after you get it redone.

  2. I chopped all mine after chemo. I had no other choice. I think it looks cute. It took me a while to get used to it and I now actually mis it. Give it a few days you will love it soon enough!

  4. I actually think it's really cute pulled up. I don't know what it looks like down, but I think you can pull it off. Your are so pretty. Loved the little video!

  5. I think it looks cute! But I know how you feel. I don't think when you get a hair cut that it is ever how the picture is or how you describe it to the stylist. I cried when I chopped mine recently. It will grow back, just sucks waiting :)

  6. I think I agree with everyone, that 1. It isn't that bad and 2. Your gorgeous! I did that once with my hair though so I know how you feel, I think I wore it up until it finally grew back!

  7. Hi-Low to you too! LOL! You are adorable. And lucky for you, you have such a pretty face, you can TOTALLY rock a short hair style! You look gorgeous in the vlog :) I have very big features, so a short hair cut would look terrible on me, but if I could pull it off, I would chop all my hair off. It seriously looks really cute...totally honest!

  8. Well...we didn't REALLY get to see it but...;) You really do look so pretty on that video! Like it pulled back, maybe that will be the way to wear it for a few weeks. I have ALWAYS had short hair so this has happened to me SO MANY TIMES! I did the same thing as you, pulled it back. When they "fix" it, I would'nt let them cut off more...just sayin'! :)

  9. I am cracking up that you said Hi-lo!! haha! So cute. Anyway, I think it looks adorable pulled back! I think you look great with short hair because of your cheekbones and bone structure. Very flattering! What are they going to do to "fix it"? Just wondering! I agree...hair and nail vitamins/pre-natals really help your hair grow! But it really is cute how it is now. :) I didn't realize you had twitter either...I'll be following you lol

  10. You are so stinkin cute! At least you can pull it back that much! Look on the bright side! But, you would look great bald, so I wouldn't stress too much. ;-)

  11. I just posted a blog about the exact same thing! I showed my stylist a picture and after the hair cut was over and she turned my chair around I just about cried. That was a few months ago and I'm still trying to grow it out enough to get it cut the RIGHT way. Serves me right for going somewhere else to save money.

  12. From what I can tell it looks cute! I totally think you have to right face to rock any length hair that you want, be it long or short. Just have them add a little texture to it when you get it fixed and I'm sure you will like it a lot better.

    On a side note, I'm a new follower to your blog and my daughter's name is also Claire! And by reading your previous post, I'm guessing that your husbands name is Dallas? If so, that's my dogs name. Haha, how weird/ironic is that?

  13. Bless your heart--it does NOT look bad.
    You look adorable, but I definitely know how it goes when you go in with a lovely visual aid and don't come out with the same hairdo.
    It looks really cute. Promise. :)

  14. I think you look great girl! I'm so sorry you don't like it though. I'm terrified of asking my stylist to do more than a trim so I've had the same boring hair for years! I wish I could pull off a short style like you.

  15. It looks fine!!!! But, I like short hair...you can totally pull it off girl. It is probably just shock right now...I bet that you will get used to it :)

  16. I think it looks cute! and you can still pin it back! :) I know what you are feeling though - I chopped off 6 inches before and had a chin length bob. If you want to try something other than prenatals I like to use Hair Formula 37.

  17. I've been there...where you go in wanting one cut and you come out with a totally different one! I don't know about yours, but with mine, the guy turned my chair away from the mirror and when he turned me back one side of my hair was ALL GONE! Seriously! I went in wanting a similar cut to what you wanted and ended up with a PIXI cut! UGh, it sucked! Took about a year to grow out.

    BUT, your cut is what I usually get, and I know all too well the razor on the back of the neck feeling, lol! From what I can tell, it's super cute! Once you get used to the dramatic change you might like it!

    Side note - everytime I watch DWTS I want Chelsea's haircut! I'm trying to grow my hair out because it's just too hard to do in the morning with a 6 month old, but gaw, it's so cute!!!
