So, my doctor's office just called annndddd.....
I have Gestational Diabetes.
Now I have to go to some clinic & have them monitor my blood & tell me how to manage this beast.
At least I pigged out on sugar all weekend in preparation for such crappy news. I'm hoping that since I have this, it will explain why I have been feeling so dizzy & thirsty lately. It will be ok. There is worse things that could happen, no?
I'll keep ya posted as to how this appointment at the clinic goes :)
I hope you all had a fabulous Father's Day weekend!! I can't WAIT for next year so that me & my little family can celebrate!!

Oh no! We'll be praying for you, dear...
ReplyDeleteThat stinks... but I have heard even if you have it, it is not that bad and can be controlled by diet (which sucks being pregnant) and that it should go away after delivery! Good Luck!!
ReplyDeleteI bet that explains how you've been feeling! There was a girl in my Lamaze class you had GD and she said she felt so much better after they put her on some meds and a better diet! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear this, hopefully the diet will help you to feel better. My doctor made me eat the restricted GD diet because my swelling was so bad. I have to say that it wasn't all that terrible. And, it helped keep my weight gain under control!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that but SO much better that you know. You'll feel better in no time now that you know why you were feeling "blah".
ReplyDeleteYou can still celebrate. Just because your little girl isnt physically in your arms on Mother's & Father's Day, doesnt me she isnt still your baby, that makes you and your husband Mother and Father...therefore, Happy Father's Day to your hubby! *wink*
ReplyDeleteI had GD too. It wasn't that bad. I had swelling from water but I delivered a healthy and happy baby. Mine went away after I had E. Will pray for you. If you have any questions just email me. Hope your hubby had a great fathers day.
ReplyDeletesorry girl. Praying that they figure out an easy way to keep it under control.

ReplyDeleteSorry about the news :( I had gestational diabetes with Ava. It was diet controlled. At first I had a meltdown because I craved sweets. But it turned out for the best. I felt much better, my weight gain slowed and Ava was a healthy 7lb 1 oz baby. Good luck with the clinic, it helps a lot.
ReplyDeleteBoo....just follow the doctor's orders & all will be good!!
ReplyDeletesorry to hear that :( you'll get through! then you can eat all the cupcakes you like after she's born :)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry girl!! Let us know how things go. Praying it's not to bad!
ReplyDeleteSorry hun! I hear it really isn't all that bad and you won't gain nearly as much weight in the last trimester because of the "diet" thats a perk!!!
ReplyDeleteThat really stinks! Just remember that it will all be worth it once you hold that sweet little girl in your arms! Just 11 weeks from now!!
ReplyDeleteThats no good!! I hope everything goes well at your appointment. If it makes you feel any better, I gave you an award on my blog :)
