Our Valentine's Day & Cali Vacation

So, I'm here to give you a recap of our Valentine's Day & my vacation!

We celebrated V-day last Friday since I wouldn't be home for the actual day. My plan all week was to go pick up some yummy salmon & crab cakes at a local restaurant & cook dinner at home. Well, about 3pm last Friday at work, the exhaustion set in & the last thing I wanted to do was cook. I'm such a bad wife! So I told hubby I wanted to go out the the ever romantic Red Robin & have their onion rings. Hot huh?! When D came home from work, he walked in the door with a rose & a stuffed animal for our fur baby. How sweet! Hubby is not the most romantic guy in the world, so whenever he does things like this; it's such a pleasant surprise. He was so excited about the rose because it's genetically enhanced to never die or wilt. COOL! but, it smells like crap; which we thought was hilarious! It is gorgeous though!
Dinner was really nice. I ate entirely too much & then felt sick. We went home, I did some laundry & we watched the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. It was quite romantic :)
Puppy with her new toy.

Pretty rose that smells like poop :)

Headin' to dinner

The next morning, I left for California. My dad came to pick me up & drive my mom & I to the airport, and I felt so sick. Like, the most sick I have ever felt this pregnancy. I felt extremely sick to my stomach (but never threw up), anxious & really dizzy (everything was spinning). It was fun. Not. But by the time we arrived in Cali, all of my worries went away & I was instantly enjoying the amazing weather & the nice getaway!
We stayed at the Hilton which was BEAUTIFUL!
Just Arrived. Ahhh.
Gorgeous!

The competition started on Sunday night, so during the day, mom & I went shopping at an awesome mall, treated ourselves to Valentine's day pedicures & had lunch at California Pizza kitchen. For dinner, we went to the hotel restaurant & we were the only non-couple there. OOPS!
There were sooo many amazing teams at the competition. Oregon did so great! They ended up placing 5th out of 10 in Jazz (the highest they had placed in 5 years) & 8th of of 19 in Hip Hop. YAY!
My sister Alie is seriously such an amazing dancer. I love watching her dance. It sort of makes me jealous ;)

Fireworks show from our hotel!

Momma & I enjoying the weather!

Downtown Disney & dinner at Rainforest Cafe!
We came home on Tuesday morning which was rough waking up at 4am. But the trip was so much fun & so worth it!

And that was my Valentine's & vaca' recap!

  6. What a great trip! Wow, it looks like the weather was GREAT!

That's really cute about the rose, haha. Also, I'm so intrigued--it NEVER dies or wilts???? Or just lasts a really long time? How interesting! I wonder how long it lasts!
