Wednesday night, we traded in my money sucker H3, for a 2011 Kia Sportage. As much as I loved Big Red & wanted to be a cool mom that drives an H3, we needed to downsize & save some monies.
We were at the dealership until 9pm. Way past C's bedtime. & you know what? She was amazing. Didn't fuss once. I think she was just as excited to get a new car as mom & dad were ;)
We got such an amazing deal & I am so excited to be saving money {$100} each month!!
So, I went from this:
The day we got Big Red in 2009 |
My Mom Mobile. yes that's me in there. Hubs was being creepy & took a pic without me knowing. |
I can't thank you all enough for your suggestions in my last post. They are so helpful & I am going to use a lot of them. Seriously, I love you guys.
Have an awesome weekend!!
p.s. I am still working on following all of you that left me a comment, so fear not! I have not forgotten!
ain't nothin' wrong with being a money saver! Love the new ride!!
ReplyDeleteIt is a cute mommy vehicle for sure! I love the H3, but saving money will be so awesome for you guys!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new mommy ride! I have a Toyota Avalon which isnt cutting it anymore for my 2 kids and 2 stepkids! I need a minivan...:::sigh:::
ReplyDeleteomg, how cute is your new little mom mobile? i totes wouldnt have pegged you for driving an H3, but damn woman! you go girl.. hey, monies is monies is monies. i'd pretty much sell a kidney at this point to make a little extra to be able to keep staying at home with C! Haha!
ReplyDeleteYEY! For new cars!!!
ReplyDeletecongrats & woo hoo for saving money!! I am sure that gas alone will save you guys a bundle!
ReplyDeleteLove the new car! I'm shopping around for a new SUV. Car shopping is fun!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love the new car!! We have a mini van, I would love to get an SUV though!
ReplyDeleteStill a cool mom . . . I know you have to make sacrifices to make sure the little ones are taken care of. What a good momma :) I love the new ride too and I bet besides a different payment the gas savings will be great!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! So great!!! I traded my mazda 3 (my "cool car") to a Honda Pilot. My Mazda's name was Lilly and we named the pilot Maverick...don't judge..I love to give my cars names...it personalizes them!

lLove it! Can't beat a new car. Good job! What a huge sacrifice you have made...inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I can't wait to trade in one of our cars for an SUV...we NEED one!
ReplyDeleteLast month I had to trade in my Cadillac for the same reasons and cried like a baby!
ReplyDeleteWe are actually going to lease a Sportage for our next car. DH and I are car snobs, and usually end up buying a new car every 2 yrs, so we figured leasing was the best bet for us. You'll probably save even more per month, when you figure in the gas you'll be saving!
ReplyDeleteThanks, everyone!!
ReplyDeleteShannon, we leased it! Hubs & I are the same way & knew leasing would be perfect since I will be "tired" of the car in 3 years. lol.
I think it's perfect!! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteIt's a difference but your new car is so cute!!! Plus saving money helps too! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteI love that color!!!! If the Toyota Highlander had come in that color I probably would've gotten that instead of the olive green!
ReplyDeleteI actually like the way the Kia looks better! Very pretty! I hope you like it better than your H3!
ReplyDeleteLurve the new ride! I like the H3 but between you and me I think the Sportage is much cuter and much more of a sophisticated momma ride. Plus if it saves ya some cash ya can't complain. Enjoy your new toy!
ReplyDeleteI love the new car! And I'm pretty sure you are still a "cool mom." The new car is awesome. At least it isn't a minivan! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat choice with your new car, I think it's cute! Such a smart move on your part by trading it in, hope this makes a big difference for you : )
ReplyDeleteThe new Sportage is so cute! Congratulations on your new ride!
ReplyDeleteWithout saying, the H3 was awesome, but that Kia is actually cool! I'd say you're coolness factor hasn't been affected. ;)
ReplyDeleteMy story?
Baby #1 - 4Runner Limited. Sweet.
Baby #2 - Hmmm...this thing is feeling small.
Baby #3 - Suburban w/ bench seats. Z71 out of reach.
Realization - bench seats with 3 car seats, unable to access 3rd row: mega-hard.
The day I cried - traded Suburban for [swallow]...minivan. [Sobbing.]
The day I cheered - only 9 months of minivan life we finally got a Z71 with captains chairs! Joy!
2nd Realization - it drinks gas because it likes to laugh at me.
I think we should just ride bikes. ;)
Whoa, that is really a downgrade. But it's worth it. I mean your new car looks good, too. Oh, your big tank will surely be missed! Good thing that you got it at a more affordable price. But with either car, you're still a cool mom. :)
