please keep our sweet Claire Lula in your thoughts & prayers.
Tomorrow, she will be having surgery to repair her cleft pallet.
It's an inpatient procedure & she will be kept over night for observation after the surgery is complete.
While I am so anxious & excited for her to get this fixed {while she's so young} so that she doesn't have any more problems with feeding, I am a ball of worry.
I know that everything will be o.k. The surgeon has {slightly} set our minds at ease by telling us that it's really no different than having your tonsils out {which is a pretty minor procedure}. But nonetheless, she's getting put under, & that scares the living crap out of me. She's only 6 months old, after all.
Supposedly, Claire will be able to eat normally as soon as the procedure is through. I am so excited to see the change in her eating habits & wonder if she will put on a bunch of weight afterward! Or maybe she's just always going to be a little lady ;)
I promise to keep you all posted as soon as we get home on Saturday.
Good Luck I am sure it will go smoothly....praying for you guys!

ReplyDeletePraying for you, Miss. Claire and all of the nurses and doctors that will be taking care of her. I SO know exactly where you are coming from as being a nervous wreck..I've been there..twice! And, have a couple more ahead of us. Just think of how much better she will feel after all of this!
ReplyDeleteYou are in our thoughts and prayers! Our daughter Audrey is 5 weeks old and she was born tongue tied, luckily after much perseverance she is breastfeeding and gaining weight so they aren't talking about correcting it unless we notice speech problems down the road. But the thought of it is so scary!

ReplyDeleteLots of prayers heading your way!
ReplyDeleteM had surgery when she was just 5 days old and I know exactly the scary feeling you have inside about having your little baby being put under anesthesia. It is terrifying. Make sure you are surrounded by loved ones during the procedure. Go grab a coffee at the hospital cafe and keep your body busy so your mind has less time to think about it. M sends her hugs to Claire!
She'll (and you) will def be in my prayers tomorrow. <3
ReplyDeleteClaire and your fam are in my prayers, for sure! I am so happy for you guys that you will be able to move on and put this all behind you after tomorrow. Can't wait to see if she "fattens" up! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis is totally random, but I read your blog on occasion, and our daughter is also having surgery tomorrow to have feeding tube placed in her belly for feeding issues/weight gain. We will be there overnight too. Maybe we'll see each other. (Crazy world of blogging) Good luck!
